Our Mission.

MISSION STATEMENT 

The key activity of the Branch is animal welfare.

The charitable objectives of the Branch are; TO PROMOTE THE WORK AND OBJECTS OF THE NATIONAL SOCIETY, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE AREA OF THE BRANCH, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POLICIES OF THE BRANCH and the NATIONAL SOCIETY.

PREVENTING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS AND ACTIVELY PROMOTING THEIR CARE AND PROTECTION

RESCUE REHABILITATE AND REHOME; Support the local work of the Inspectorate by making sure that the animals that are rescued or removed can receive any necessary veterinary treatment and be safely rehomed. Also to help with sick or injured unowned and abandoned animals in the Branch area. Establishing a policy that any animal that can have a quality of life and can be found a home will not be abandoned by the Branch 

NEUTERING; Promote and provide financial assistance with the neutering of owned animals. 

VETERINARY WELFARE ASSISTANCE; To avoid animals suffering, provide financial assistance for the treatment of owned animals where owners on low incomes and meet an agreed criteria. This can be achieved by working in partnership with local private veterinary practices.

MICROCHIPPING; Promote and provide financial assistance with microchipping of owned animals.

PREVENTION; Support the campaigns of the national RSPCA to educate people from a young age to adulthood promoting good practice in all areas of Animal Welfare.

PARTNERSHIP:  To promote and establish working partnership relations with National RSPCA and other Branches within the RSPCA together with establishing active working with other Agencies and Charities with the same objectives and ambitions as this Branch. To respond to animal welfare needs brought to us by Local Authorities, Police and other official bodies. 

IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THESE ACTIVITIES WE MUST ENSURE

SUSTAINABILITY

Establish and sustain a regular income to enable the Branch to undertake and fund its objectives contained in its short term and long-term strategic plans

RECRUIT AND DEVELOP VOLUNTEERS INCLUDING TRUSTEES

To establish a policy of regular recruitment exercises to recruit and train volunteers in all aspects of the Branches work including the recruitment of Branch Trustees

Plans for 2023.

In addition to our usual core activities we will prioritise the following areas in 2023;

  • Offer cost of living support, including partnering with food banks across branch area and targeted help to pet owners and other stakeholders in need.
  • Free Microchipping campaign for cats.
  • Offering branch-subsidised services in clinics, including neutering schemes and rabbit focused services.

Our vision as a Branch of the RSPCA is a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion.

We will strive to work in partnership with all local stakeholders who can impact upon animal welfare.

We will look for innovative ways to achieve our purposes through partnerships.

We will adapt our activities in response to changing need.

We will strive to extend our reach and impact to help more animals in need.

We will raise our reputation and brand and thereby power future income and growth.

We all have so much respect for John Bowley, Animal Welfare Administrator and volunteer for RSPCA – Kent North West Branch who provides our practice staff with so much help and support. This has resulted in veterinary care and rehoming opportunities for no doubt hundreds and hundreds of animals!
