Our Team.

Our Branch is overseen by a Committee of Trustees who are responsible for setting the direction and priorities and ensuring the long term success of the Branch and setting our Strategic Plan. 

Our small team of staff is made up of;

  • Part time Branch Manager, Becky Blackmore
  • Part time Animal Welfare, Community Engagement and Education Officer (ACE) – Emma Byrne.

Volunteers are key to everything we do and none more so than John Bowley, who has worked endless hours every week for many decades as our Animal Welfare Administrator.  We also have a team of volunteer drivers who make sure rescued animals get to where they need to to without delay and keep our local foodbanks stocked with pet food.

You will see Emma driving round our Branch area in her RSPCA van. Emma Byrne joined our Branch in the July 2022 so we can do even more for animals. She has 20 years experience with the RSPCA and is already making a difference in our area.

Emma’s role is to assist the local community with animal issues including our busy veterinary practices, local authorities and local animal welfare groups. Emma is also very keen to visit schools, clubs and other groups to give informative talks on various animal welfare issues. Becky Blackmore

Branch Manager

Becky joined us after 15 years working at the national RSPCA. Her toughest ever job was Head of Kennels at Battersea Dogs Home and she also worked for a Charity for retired greyhounds. Although dogs are her favourite animal she loves the fact that the RSPCA is here for ALL ANIMALS!
